For help in accessing the library databases, follow the instructions below.
 
 
 
 
 
 
1. To access the library databases at home, type  www.broward.org/library in your web browsers address bar. On the first page, click on "Library Online." While you are following these steps, you may encounter a log in page or a verification page. You will need your library card number and the last four digits of the telephone on your library records. Follow the directions to log in or verify your card number.

The "Welcome Page" for the library should look like this next page.
From the left-hand side menu select "Find Materials" -- then select "Free Online Resources" from the drop-down menu. See the next two pictures. 
 
 
 
 
 
2. On the next screen, click on "Free Online Resources : Electronic Databases"
 
 
 
3. On the next page select  "Literature", then choose "Literature Resource Center."  
 
 
4. After you chose "Literature", you will select "Literature Resource Center" :
 
 
 
 
5. Search the database to find an article you might use. Repeat the process and choose "Literature Critism Online" for the second database to search.
 
6. For the third database, return to "Free Online Materials" and choose "Magazines and Newspapers" then select "General Onefile"
 
7. For the fourth database, type "ipl.org" in your browser address bar. Then select "Special Collections" to begin your search.This search will not require a login.
